The reality is that no AI tool out there can say with complete certainty whether something was written by AI or plagiarized. Even the major detection platforms deal with accuracy issues and false positives. Because of that, we don’t rely on a simple “AI or not” score.Instead, Trek focuses on giving teachers visibility into student growth over time — including writing patterns, skill development, and overall performance. That way, teachers can see how a student typically writes, how their thinking evolves, and whether a specific submission actually matches their demonstrated ability.So if a student uploads something created outside of Trek, teachers still have important context — not just the final submission, but a clear picture of that student’s past work and progression.
