# Integration & Data Management

> [accordion] How does Trek Learning integrate with school systems?
>
> Trek Learning supports two onboarding methods:
>
> * Bulk export to CSV
> * EdLink integration, which works with most LMS/SIS platforms. This is the most preferred option for our partner schools. Check if your LMS/SIS is compatible [here](https://ed.link/resources/integrations).

> [accordion] How does Trek acquire student data (grade level, reading level, etc.)?
>
> We import whatever data is available from the LMS we sync with. Reading level is initially inputted in TrekAdventure by the teacher, and from there the system dynamically adjusts based on each student's interactions and progress over time.

> [accordion] Can I control what data is shared through EdLink?
>
> Yes. Districts can filter their data and choose exactly what is shared with Trek Learning. You can learn how to set up sharing rules [here](https://ed.link/docs/platform/sharing/sharing-rules).

> [accordion] What student data is required for rostering?
>
> Rosters and student email addresses are required. Schools can manage their own rosters or send them to us for processing.

> [accordion] My teachers/students are showing in Trek Learning. Why can't they log in?
>
> Users need to be enabled to be active and able to login. See how to enable users [here](https://scribehow.com/o/jgyfc7KaQCC6Oi30U2KzBw/viewer/Enabling_Users__h05tahmtSn2mlYMHqNgk9w).

> [accordion] Can features be turned on/off for students?
>
> Yes, our team can enable or disable tools for specific students.

> [accordion] What are the tech requirements for Trek Learning?
>
> Trek Learning is web-based and works on all modern browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome).

> [accordion] Why is my data incorrect in Trek Learning?
>
> If your school uses an EdLink integration, your LMS/SIS serves as the source of truth. Any missing or incorrect information in your LMS/SIS will automatically be reflected in Trek Learning. Please update the information in your LMS or SIS first, and the changes should sync accordingly.
>
> Only active students are provisioned. Archived courses will not sync.
>
> If your account is managed manually, please contact us at [help@trekai.org](mailto:help@trekai.org), and our team will assist with updating your information.

> [accordion] How often does Trek Learning sync with my LMS/SIS?
>
> EdLink syncs automatically every few hours, depending on the LMS or SIS. If you need a manual resync, please contact [EdLink Support](https://ed.link/support). If the issue is on the Trek Learning side, reach out to [help@trekai.org](mailto:help@trekai.org).

> [accordion] Can I EdLink to more than one LMS/SIS system?
>
> Trek Learning supports only one active EdLink integration at a time. If you need to switch to a different LMS or SIS, please reach out to [help@trekai.org](mailto:help@trekai.org) for assistance with updating your integration.

> [accordion] How long does the onboarding process take?
>
> The onboarding timeline depends on your method of data integration. If your LMS or SIS data is ready and properly configured, onboarding can be completed quickly. Manual data uploads may require additional time.

> [accordion] How long is data stored? Does it roll over year to year?
>
> Data is stored for as long as the account is active, and yes — it absolutely carries over from year to year and moves with the student!

> [accordion] How does Trek filter the information it gets outside LLM’s?
>
> Trek operates as a walled garden and only uses the LLM tool plus any content you have uploaded into the system as well as our vetted knowledge base. This helps Trek have more accurate, more helpful responses to teachers and students.
